EFFECT OF DIETARY SUPPLEMENTATION OF FENNEL SEEDS (FOENICULUM VULGARE) ON IMPROVING EGG QUALITY IN LAYING HENS

The purpose of the study was to examine impact adding Fennel seeds (Foeniculum vulgare L.) into diets laying hens on egg quality. This conducted in poultry fields belonging Department Animal Production, College Agriculture, and University Anbar for 12 weeks. A total 72 (Lohman Brown) were used this experiment, at age 43 Hens randomly distributed six treatments groups with four replicates per treatment (3 hens/replicate). T1: (positive control) based diet containing 1% hydrogenated vegetable fat, T2: (negative Sheep T3, T4, T5 T6 contained fat + supplementation 0.25, 0.50, 0.75 powder sequentially. results showed significant (P≤0.05) differences qualitative characteristics quality, as significantly superior rest experimental shell weight, yolk index, percentage Albumen weight %, (g) Haugh Unit. Treatments thickness, weight%, while there no effect (percentage weight%) compared two control T1 T2. It concluded hens' improved quality eggshell, yolk, white.
